Smart Continent

Data led research identity

Moira Visuals created a visual identity for Smart Continent, a research and consulting institute working with governments, public institutions, and international organizations. The identity translates analytical thinking, statistical logic, and evidence based decision making into a clear and functional design system.

Client and Collaboration Overview

Smart Continent operates in environments where research outputs must be communicated clearly through presentations, reports, and policy documents. Our collaboration focused on understanding real working conditions rather than ideal design scenarios. Design solutions were tested directly in PowerPoint and Word, where most analytical work actually happens. The process required adapting visual thinking to the technical limitations and logic of office software. This ensured that the identity could be used daily by researchers, analysts, and consultants without design support. The collaboration treated identity as a working tool rather than a visual layer.

Project Objectives

The primary goal was to transform the existing logo into a distinctive identity rooted in data and research culture. The visual language needed to reflect statistics, charts, and analytical structures familiar to policy and research environments. A custom logo typeface was required to visually encode quantitative logic and presentation graphics. Another key objective was to create a large scale PowerPoint template system adaptable to different research narratives and datasets. Standardizing Word documents for reports and official publications was also essential.

Project Outcomes

We redesigned the logo and developed a custom logo typeface inspired by statistical charts, pie diagrams, and vertical data structures. A coherent visual system was created using presentation graphics logic as its core design principle. More than sixty PowerPoint slide templates were designed to support different analytical scenarios and data formats. Word document templates were standardized to ensure consistency across reports and publications. The final identity supports complex analytics while remaining practical, scalable, and usable within everyday office environments.
